Structural support for languages and international values

Supported character sets

Structural can work with the following character sets:

  • ASCII

  • UTF-8

  • UTF-16

Sensitivity detection in other languages

Structural's rule-based sensitivity detection is limited to English values.

To detect values in other languages requires a connection to an LLM. For more information, go to AI in Structural.

Detection of national identifiers

Structural currently supports the following generators to identify and replace government identifiers:

  • SSN - United States Social Security Numbers.

  • SIN - Canadian Social Insurance Number.

  • FNR - Norwegian national identity number.

To detect other national identifiers requires a connection to an LLM. For more information, go to AI in Structural.

Address value replacement

The Structural Address generator is currently based on addresses in the United States.

The International Address generator is limited to specific values in Canada and the United Kingdom.

For other international address values, consider the following workarounds:

  • Use the Custom Categorical generator, and use the LLM option to prompt the generator to create a set of realistic values. For example, Generate a list of 40 cities and towns in France.

  • Use the Categorical generator to reuse the existing values in the source data.

Datetime value replacement

The Random Timestamp and Timestamp Shift generators support a wide range of datetime formats.
