# Assigning tags to datasets

Tags can help you to organize your datasets. For example, you can use tags to indicate datasets that belong to different groups, or that deal with specific areas of your data.

You can manage tags from the **Datasets** page or from the **Project Settings** tab on the dataset details.

## Datasets page

On the **Datasets** page, the **Tags** column displays the currently assigned tags.

On the dataset

To change the tag assignment for a dataset:

1. Click **Tags**.
2. On the dataset tags panel, to create a new tag, type the tag text, then press Enter.\
   \
   You can also select an existing tag from the dropdown list.

3. To remove a tag, click its delete icon.
4. To remove all of the tags, click the delete all icon.

## Dataset details

On the **Dataset settings** page of the dataset detail&#x73;**,** the **Tags** section lists the currently assigned tags.

To change the tag assignment for the dataset:

1. Click the **Tags** field.
2. To create a new tag, type the tag text, then press Enter.\

   You can also select an existing tag from the dropdown list.

3. To remove a tag, click its delete icon.
