# Changing entity type handling

From the file preview, to select the [entity type handling option](/textual/dataset-configure-redaction/textual-datasets-select-handling-type.md#handling-options-available) for an entity type:

1. On either de-identified or original view, click a detected value.
2. On the details panel, click the entity type handling option. Textual applies the same option to all entity values of that type.

For the **Synthesis** option, you can configure a specific replacement value for the original value. For example, for the original first name value John, you can specify to replace all instances with Michael.

You configure other synthesis options from the dataset details page. For more information, go to [Configuring entity type synthesis options](/textual/dataset-configure-redaction/textual-datasets-synthesis-options.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.tonic.ai/textual/datasets-preview-output/dataset-file-preview/file-preview-redacted-file/file-preview-entity-type-handling.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
