# Showing and hiding the value highlighting

For de-identified text files, the value highlighting color indicates the entity type handling option.

* Redacted values are purple.
* Synthesized values are blue.
* Ignored values are grey.

The legend at the top of the page shows the highlighting colors and whether the highlighting for each handling option is currently displayed.

To hide the highlighting for values that use a specific handling option, click the option name. For example, to hide the highlighting for ignored values, click **Ignore**. The legend is updated to indicate that the highlighting is not displayed.

To restore the highlighting, click the option name again.
